Small Steps Foundation support, educate and promote the inclusion of young children with learning disability in Uganda. We provide specialist education within a mainstream nursery setting and provide support and counselling to the families of the children.

Story

Thank you for all your help so far.  You've been so generous I've raised my target:

From 8pm on the 12th March to 8pm on the 14th March 2010 I will be fasting. No food shall pass my lips for those 48 hours.

This is all in aid of the Small Steps Nursery, a charity which works with young Ugandan children with learning difficulties or develo
pmental delay, providing specialist support to them and their families.

The charity has been set up by my younger sister and is run entirely by volunteers, which means any donations will go directly to supporting the children.

I am hoping to get 50 people to sponsor me £5 which will help me get to my target of £250. It may not sound a lot however this will have an enormous impact. The £250 will either:

        • Pay for 250 nutritious meals for the children
        • Pay for 10 weeks rent of the facilities
        • Employ local staff for 5 months

Its not just your money I am after: I am looking for donations of:

        • New and used educational toys and books
        • School supplies such as pencils, crayons, notebooks
        • Equipment including potties, baby baths, feeding cups and children’s clothes
        • Sanitary and first aid equipment

I will then get these shipped directly to the Nursery.

So please help
