The Grey Boy's River Nevis Descent

It involves hurling yourself into the icy cold River Nevis and navigating 2 miles of rapids, waterfalls and a spectacular jump over a 30ft waterfall. The time taken, depending on the amount of water at the time, can vary from 20min. to over an hour . The state of the water also determines the amount of scrapes and bruises although no one has been seriously injured as yet. (So they say). We aren't allowed to take kayaks and I don’t suppose we could stay in them anyway.
Have a look at last years race here. http://www.nofussevents.co.uk/event/Glen-Nevis-River-Race/1026/
It’s all in aid of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue team a splendid body of people who get called out in excess of 100 times a year to get people out of sticky situations varying from minor injuries on low level paths, to the more technical winter rescues on the north face of Ben Nevis which can involve rope lowers of up to 2000 feet and many hours in freezing temperatures. The money raised will help ensure that they can provide the equipment for the team and members to successfully complete the rescues.
A good deal of the Grey gene pool is committed to this. Please give generously.
Many thanks
