Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon with my great friend Michael Toft. We have choosen to embark on this challenge in order to raise money for the Institute of Cancer Research.
Collectively we have reasons for choosing this charity. Sadly Mike lost his father last year after a battle against cancer. This prompted us to make a pact that we would attempt a challenge together in 2010 and in doing so raise money for cancer research.
Additionally my motivation is through my Grandpa and Mum. I was very close to my Grandpa Hope. I grew up spending every moment of my spare time with him on the family farm. When I was 14 he was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away as a result of this illness. Four years ago my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to the fantastic care and attention of the medical staff she has made a great recovery. I am in no doubt that this was only possible throught the extensive research into the disease that is carried out by the various cancer research teams. These are the drivers behind me running for the Institute of Cancer Research.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Any donation will be greatly received and appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation.

P.S. Despite a slight set back with an achilles problem, I am back pounding the miles which have included some gruelling hill runs in order to keep the achilles stretched.
P.S.S. A massive thank you to all who have donated so far. Your generosity has been amazing and along with your notes of support a real inspiration.
