Hello and thank you  for taking the time to visit and read my JustGiving page.

 

In honour of a close friend who was  recently lost to a Lung condition, we will be undertaking the challenge of cycling from London to Paris over four days, to raise money for the Lung Foundation.  The route spans a distance of 340 miles (500 KM)

 

Breathing is the most natural, effortless thing that we do. We do it subconsciously, until we do something that requires a strenuous effort, for example, running or going to the gym, or playing a game of Tennis, Rugby or the like when you find yourself breathless and struggling to capture the oxygen you need.  Imagine what it would feel like if every day, every breath required the same effort, regardless of activity and even then you might not capture the oxygen your body needs, which means you are are attached to an oxygen tank. Imagine the effect that would have on you and your family.  

 

Lung disease comes in many shapes and forms, ranging from conditions which, through the right medication can be managed,  through to conditions which require a Lung Transplant to prevent death, provide the sufferer with relief from the symptoms and enable them to live a life that many of us take for granted.

 

Nothing comes more naturally, than breathing, until that is,  you can't. 

 

Any help you give, small or large, even if it is encouragement to us as we move towards being lean mean cycling machines, is greatly appreciated and perhaps, more importantly, will make a difference.
