Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Mairi Macdonald and Ian McLean are living off £1 a day for the week of 3-9 May 2020. The basic "rules" are that each of our food bills for the week do not total more than £7. We cannot accept gifts of food during this period, nor can we forage.

The point, of course, is that many people have to get by on this all the time. Even 'well-to-do' places like Stratford-upon-Avon need a Foodbank - there's a lot of hidden poverty around here.

This is a challenge for both of us (especially as Ian is a foodie) so we're hoping that you'll be able to sponsor us for this event.

Here are our "Rules" for the week:

* The week begins at 00:00:01 on Day 1 and ends at midnight on Day 7

*All condiments/spices are free to use

*Tap-water (not bottled) is free to use

*Allowing others to buy you food is not allowed

*Allowing others to give you food is not allowed

*Tea-bags/Milk pack sizes are too large/too costly. We calculate unit price and cross-charge accordingly from stock

*If you 'grow your own' or forage, these items cannot be consumed

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
