London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

We support patients, our people and visitors at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, St. Margaret’s Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. We provide support that is beyond the scope of the NHS, for example purchasing special equipment, improving facilities and investing in vital research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February 2019 I had a motorbike accident on the M11 and fractured my ankle and wrist.  The former was more serious and required the insertion of a metal plate and pins.

One major part on the road to recovery, physically and mentally, was the visits to the physiotherapy unit and the goal to get back to running.

I was lucky enough to get a place in the London Marathon this year through the ballot and I want to use the opportunity to raise money to purchase something the Physiotherapy Department really needs - which turns out to be a plinth or two (or in layman's terms the assessment beds).

These cost about £800 each so I hope to get at least a couple.

Many of you may know I have run marathons before but this time it's a bit different.
