Bromley Homeless is a year round service providing Homeless Advice & Advocacy, Shelter and Hosted accommodation in the Borough of Bromley. Between November and March, we run a static shelter for homeless men and women with an array of services to boost and support their wellbeing until housed.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I decided to take part in this event because I want to highlight the shocking lack of support available to the vulnerable. My goal is not just to raise money but to make people aware of the circumstances that can lead to homelessness.

There are over 250,000 people in England who are homeless and in temporary accommodation.

People become homeless for lots of different reasons. These range from a lack of affordable housing, poverty and unemployment, tragic life events to mental health issues.

People are often forced into homelessness when they leave prison, care or the army with no home to go to (many suffering from PTSD). Many women end up homeless having escaped a violent or abusive relationship and a shocking number of children who have run away from home to escape their abusers end up on the street.

In nearly all cases homelessness is preventable and in every case it can be ended.
