Together, we are bringing freedom from human trafficking and modern slavery by identifying victims, supporting survivors and preventing exploitation. Hope for Justice works in the UK, USA, Ethiopia and Uganda and helps thousands of people a year. Visit www.hopeforjustice.org to find out more.

Story

Hope for Justice works across the world to bring an end to modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives, and reforming society.

I've been involved with Hope for Justice for a few years and I founded a skills-based volunteering initiative called 'Connecting HR Africa' where a team of people who work in HR/Learning and Development give of their skills to support the staff of Hope for Justice. I was in Ethiopia with a team in November 2025 and we paid for our own travel costs and are seeking to raise further funds so that Hope for Justice can do more work.

To raise money, I am doing an indoor cycling challenge which is to ride the height of Everest (8,848m or 29,029ft). I'm hoping to do it in a day but (and it is a big but) I broke my ankle really badly (trimalleolar fracture) and this is a multi-year recovery and training journey! I think it will take me 16-18 hours on the day and this is a similar challenge to running 4 x marathons back to back on one day! I am hoping to do this March/April 2026.

The work of Hope for Justice means so much to me and this will give me an extra incentive to recover / heal / train, knowing that - with your support - it will help us to bring an end to modern slavery. Any donations go directly to Hope for Justice.
