Story

A foreword from Blood Cancer UK: - "We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job."

My wife was diagnosed with cancer in late 2019, receiving a full diagnosis of Low Grade Non Hodgkin Lymphoma and started chemotherapy in January 2020, just before the Covid Pandemic reared it's ugly head.

Since March 2020 we have shielded as a family, only going out, since August, for a daily hours exercise, when the weather allows. By the time the Walk of Light comes around we will have spent a year shielding, so feel this walk would be a great way to commemorate that event!

We are going to be carrying out a socially distanced 4 mile street walk, round our home town, at sunset on March 27th. Your support would be much appreciated for this fantastic charity who do a lot of good work for people like my wife and others suffering from blood cancer.
