The Outer Hebrides challenge · 2 June 2014

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

So, let's be honest, we'd be doing this anyway. Modern day man needs to prove he still has a purpose and so the cave man in me and three other idiots finds us, every few years, doing something we probably shouldn't. And this year we're taking on our toughest challenge yet.

On June 2nd we'll be heading off to a ride a loop around the Outer Hebrides. Over six days we hope to cover 428km and climb over 9000 ridiculous metres.

This is going to be hard but knowing we're raising money for a worthwhile charity like Macmillan might just give us that extra push when we need it. Over the years I've lost too many friends and family to the awful illness that is cancer but through that time Macmillan have been there, not only for the individuals but for their families as well. And your support means they'll always be there for the ones who are still fighting.

As we're on mountain bikes, we'll be riding off road where possible. We'll be riding un-supported, that means we'll be carrying all our own equipment, clothes, spares and tools. We’ll be updating this page and Facebook as we go and if you want to track our progress from the comfort of your office or armchair, simply install the map my ride app and request me as a friend. This will allow you to live track our progress (or lack of it).

Thank you

praying for sunshine,

Ian, Clive, Steve and Cliff.
