Story
Welcome!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be raising money for Climb 2 Recovery, a charity that supports injured veterans by enabling them to experience climbing and mountaineering adventures that would have otherwise seemed impossible.
What makes this charity unique is that they also facilitate training for it's members so that they are able to gain the necessary knowledge, confidence and qualifications to safely plan, execute and lead adventures of their own.
So what will I be doing?
The West Highland Way to Ben Nevis, a task that will be broken down into 3 phases...
Phase 1: The Approach
I will be trekking 96 miles (154km) from Milngavie, Glasgow to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands using only what I can carry on my back...so lots of wildcamping!
Phase 2: The Assault
Once I reach Fort William I will continue straight to the summit of the highest mountain in the UK...Ben Nevis, which sits at 1,345m. Having summited this mountain 3 times already via 3 different routes, I would love to try a new and more challenging ascent (I'm open to suggestions).
Phase 3: The Extraction
Ah yes, getting home. Well...to be honest I haven't thought that far ahead so I may end up walking back or bumming a lift at this rate.
I anticipate this task to take around 7 days and will begin on May 9th 2022.
I truly appreciate that you've taken the time to read this and would be eternally grateful if you could share my story with others to help Climb 2 Recovery reach as many people as possible.
Thanks again!
Foxy.
