In memory of Ian McConville (Macca) - Fighting for every heart beat

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit this page which has been set up in memory of my step-dad Ian McConville (Macca), who died suddenly at home on 9th April 2015, of heart complications.
As you are visiting this page you must have known Ian and so I know you will be feeling your own sense of loss, for Ian unforgettably touched the lives of all who knew him. Ian will be remembered for the warmth of friendship that he exuded and the love and laughter that always surrounded him He had an extraordinary appeal which crossed generations and I have no doubt that he will be held fondly forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
Ian was only 53, and had no symptoms to indicate a heart condition prior to his sudden passing (in fact he was doing cartwheels with his Granddaughter and playing football with his Grandson only 48 hours before he died). Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer and in order to raise awareness of and fund research into this silent and devastating disease we have set up a page for donations to be made, in Ian's memory, to the British Heart foundation. Their vision, is for a world where people don't die prematurely from heart disease. It's a good vision and it is fitting that money donated in Ian's memory will go towards fighting for every heart beat.
Some of you may know that Ian was also a wonderful support to my mum after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2013. As such we have also set up a donations page for Breast Cancer care, who were a great support to mum during that time. If you would prefer to donate to this charity in Ian's memory please go to www.justgiving.com/inmemoryofmacca.
Mum and I, and all of Ian's family, have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support that we have received at this difficult time. Macca would be very grateful.
