Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Green Hill Arts & Heritage is the wing of the Moretonhampstead Development Trust that puts on shows, exhibitions, workshops and heritage events in the Old School Building in Moretonhampstead. It does so much for the community. But its finances were inevitably badly hit by Covid-19, and now it needs our help. So we are stepping up to the mark by running the Exeter Marathon on 7 November. Yup, a whole marathon. Not only do we have to get up early, to drive to Exeter to start running at 8:45am, we've then got to do 26.2 miles (42.2 kilometres).

We're really hoping that you'll support us by making a donation to our cause. And soon - the date is not far off. The more you donate, the greater the incentive we will both have to put in blazing performances on the 7th. Alexander has never run a marathon before. Ian has but only twice, and the second was by accident. His best official time to date is 3 hours 48 mins 12 secs (at the 2017 Portsmouth Marathon) and he's not quite as young and sprightly as he was then. Perhaps consider donating again if he beats that time? That would be an even bigger incentive for him to run fast. Go on. You can be sure that the expression on his face will be even more pained than when he finished the Brighton Half Marathon in 2019 (flick through the gallery of pictures above).

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you make a donation, they'll send your money directly to the Development Trust, which manages Green Hill Arts. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks for reading this and for giving your support. We are very grateful.
