NDCS North Pole Expedition 2008 · 6 April 2008 ·

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society, the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children. Together, let’s make sure nothing holds deaf children back.

Story

In April 2008 I will be part of a team of 8 hoping to ski and walk to the North Pole, and in doing so raise awareness of and funds for the National Deaf Childrens Society. Two of the team members are themselves deaf, and will be the first deaf people ever to walk to the Pole.

This is a huge, daunting task for me, but the money you donate will make a much bigger difference to the lives of young deaf people   Please dig deep and sponsor me online. I'd be so grateful if you could pass this page on to as many people as you possibly can.

Thank you so much for anything you can do to help with this, it really is appreciated.

With Warmest Regards

Ian

Latest (14 Nov '07) - nearly £20k raised!! Thankyou so much to everyone who is supporting us in this! My training tyre and I have covered the equivalent of 1 1/2 marathons together in the last few weeks (although a little bit slower than that Radcliffe woman), and I have re-discovered how beautiful this country can be on a frosty autumn morning!

5 days to go! (8 April '08) - can't believe how quickly the last year has gone! Or how generous and supportive everyone has been - it's been such a heart-warming year. And a big thanks to Ham, my fitness trainer and mentor at hamsfitness.com; couldn't have asked for more. See you all when we get back, take care!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The National Deaf Children's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax may be added to your gift at no cost to you.
