The Team provides an essential service, not only to walkers and climbers, but also to the local community. The primary function of the Team is to provide a search and rescue service in upland mountainous areas, assist the police to search for vulnerable missing persons in lowland rural areas.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Wild Yorkshire Way walk is a circular 526 miles wild walk through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. I'm walking the route in its entirety, mainly for fun, but also to raise funds for my local Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team. These guys go out in all weathers, day and night, to help people who are either ill or injured outdoors. You never know, I may need them myself one day! All their efforts are funded by donations, so please contribute just 1p per mile, just £5.26, towards my fund raising effort.

Please have a look at the Wild Yorkshire Way website, where you can follow my progress once I set off on Monday 15th April. Thank you.
