Ian Broadbent is raising money for The King's Trust

Team: Team boxxe!

Dell Technologies Management Challenge fundraising · 6 October 2022

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

Everywhere to run (/cycle/kayak/hike/etc) but no place to hide...

Having neglected fitness and lots of other things for the last 2 decades, i've naively decided a 65km Pentathlon in the Brecon Beacons is in order, Next Weekend (across Sat 11th & Sun 12th June).  There's no time to prepare, beyond going for a jog once I've finished writing this...

The assault will serve as a sobering reminder of just how far beyond 'youth' i've sedentarily travelled, in case i wasn't fully aware. And along with a small team, we've decided to raise money for the Princes Trust, a Charity who have the real life ability to 'return-to-youth' by spiritedly helping young individuals with the chance to change direction and fortune, when needed most and out of reach.

#Best of luck me. And the others doing this (in parallel, but together as a team).

THANKS to anybody who feels like donating for the cause. It'd be great to raise as much as possible over the next few days, in the run up to the event.

If I don't make it, please consider extra generosity at the wake...and the clear takeaway lessons (respect fitness and mental health more, or plan to train further in advance before taking 65km on from couch condition) should be heeded. And thanks then too, in hindsight, to medics for their efforts to salvage my remains.
