Story
As many of you will be aware, the committee recently had to take the difficult decision to cancel all plans for a face-to-face annual dinner in 2021. This is such a shame as we were unable to meet in 2020 either and were so looking forward to getting together this year.
However, this left us with a booking with Comedian Jo Caulfield to use and we wanted to give members something to look forward to before Summer.
Therefore, we are very excited to announce that on the 6th May from 8 – 9PM the district society will be hosting a live comedy gig on Zoom. The comedy will be provided by Jo Caulfield (https://jocaulfield.com/), a regular on “Have I Got News For
You”, “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow” and Radio 4’s “Just a Minute” .
We will be fundraising during the gig for the Trussell Trust.
A message from the Trussell Trust:
Last year, food banks in our network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us. With your help #ThisCanChange
