Thanks so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
This summer a group of five of us - Cadi, Charlotte, Ruben, Steph and myself - will be setting out to run across Iceland. We will be travelling from the East of the country to the West (predominantly due to the prevailing winds) and will be travelling along a mixture of roads, dirt tracks and trails.
In total, the route is approximately 500 miles long, and we hope to cover traverse the island in 17 days. To do this we will need to run 30 miles per day whilst carrying everything we need on our backs - including camping gear, food, drink and just one spare set of clothes.
In total we have three weeks in which to complete the run (as dictated by our flights to and from the country). We fly out on the 1st of June and hope to start running the following day. We hope to finish our run by Monday 18th - to allow us a little time to enjoy the sights before we fly home again.
We are raising money for Acorns Children's Hospice - a fantastic charity based in the West Midlands who provide vital care for life limited and life threatened children and support for their families.
We know that they - and we - would really appreciate your support in reaching our fundraising target!
