Ida's Three Peaks Challenge for CHAS · 25 December 2019

We're Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). We care for children throughout Scotland with life-shortening conditions and their families. We make sure that no matter how short their time together may be, it is filled with happiness. Even in the pain of grief, we're determined that joy lives on.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Kira, Lucy and I are taking on the 3 peaks challenge in June, that is climbing up Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales, the highest peak in each country. The difficulty is not just the hiking, but getting from one mountain to the next, meaning we'll be driving through the night to the Lake District and wandering up Scafell Pike in the very early morning hours without much sleep.

While doing this we are trying to fundraise for Children's Hospices Across Scotland, a wonderful charity giving families with ill children the chance for the parents to just be parents and not carers for once and doing things like organising Christmas early for families with a kid that may not live till actual Christmas, giving families some much needed happiness together while they can. All three of us heard the stories of some of the families there, loved the work CHAS was doing and chose to fundraise for them. We're trying to hit 650 each, adding in fundraising around campus to reach it. We will also hopefully be visiting one of the hospices in January.
