Story
First cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Idlib. A disaster is about to take place here. The camps are densely populated, making it impossible to implement social distancing. The long war in Syria has left Idlib with a collapsed healthcare system, making it very difficult for us to save lives in this pandemic. Us doctors have limited COVID 19 testing kits available and little personal protective equipment.
Millions do not have access to basic health care. Fleeing violence, people seek shelter in crowded camps with inadequate sanitation. No soap, hardly any water and no space for quarantine. For people in such fragile situations, the virus is yet another threat to their lives.
