We support the patients, staff and services of Worcestershire's acute hospitals by providing additional extras over the core NHS provision that improve the experience for all. From artwork to the latest medical equipment our aim is to make the experience that bit more comfortable for all.

Story

The Children of Worcestershire Cancer Fund is a charity very close to the hearts of the Directors at Ignis group after having first hand experience of the amazing support the charity offers children and their families during such difficult times. The dedication and level of care shown by the oncology Nurses and Doctors who have selflessly created this charity while continuing the amazing work they do as professionals is just amazing.

The Children of Worcestershire Cancer Fund is part of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity, and supports children from across Worcestershire receiving treatment at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Fundraising supports special events, projects and experiences that go above and beyond the core NHS provision. Over just the last 12 months funds have been used to support poorly children and their families in a variety of different ways.

As well as much needed practical support the fund provides treasured special memories for the children and their families.

Frequent hospital visits can be very costly for families and the charity have been able to provide Costa Coffee gifts cards so that children and their parents can enjoy a drink and a cake when they are on site!

A difficult side effect of treatment for many children is to experience difficulty with walking and the fund has helped to provide wheelchairs and push chairs for the children who need them.

A very much loved tradition for the team is to purchase bespoke 'end of treatment' cakes which are presented to the children when they complete their treatment.

The pandemic has been a testing time for families of children undergoing treatment and with ongoing support the fund have been able to purchase arts and crafts materials for the children to help keep them entertained.

The charitable funds also enables staff to purchase Christmas gifts, food hampers, and transform the Children's Clinic into a wonderful Santa's Grotto.

Over the years, children and their families have been taken to the Pantomime and have put on Halloween Parties each year where treats are purchased for the children.

Thank you so much for your support.
