Team: Opening a School to Educate Children in Pakistan

Believe and Do Good · 19 January 2021 ·

We are a non-profit organisation working to create school places for children affected by poverty. We have been implementing educational projects since 1994. Today, we have enough places for 112,006 children to gain an education across 390 schools of which 11,341 are orphaned.

Story

IMed Birmingham are partnering up with READ Foundation to support the opening of a new school in Pakistan!

Summary of the Project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRfXL8goqls&t=10s

Almost 22.6 million children do not go to school and half of the population, including two thirds of women, cannot read or write. Islam places great emphasis on education with the first word revealed to our Prophet (ﷺ) being, “Read”.

Out of approximately 22 million children between the ages of 5-11 years old in Punjab, around 3.3 million children, mostly girls, are out of school owing to the grossly ill-equipped public schooling system that is unable to meet the needs of a growing population.

Join us on a rewarding journey to open a new school in Mohri Sharif village in Tehsil Kharian, Gujrat district, the Punjab province Insha’Allah. This exciting new institution will provide primary education to 250 children each year, offering new hope to a community for generations to come Insha’Allah.

This school will operate on a self-sustainable model once open, meaning that our support now will continue to bear fruits for many years to come. It will offer hope of a new future, by giving children the gift of education, so they can maximise their potential.

Many of our friends, relatives and loved ones have completed their assessment in this life. With the number of departures that we are seeing on a daily basis, we invite you to join us in making a positive contribution for each of our own journeys that we shall inevitably take one day.

With or without us, this school will be established by His permission, Let’s work together to achieve our target and remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ):

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (R.A.), the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.’ (Muslim)

May Allah (S.W.T.) accept our efforts, facilitate our work and grant us success in this life and the hereafter. Ameen!
