November 17th is World Prematurity Day, a day to raise awareness about the impact of premature birth. Around 60,000 babies are born prematurely every year in the UK. This means that 1 in every 13 babies is born before 37 weeks. Colourful Beginnings (CB) supports families with premature and sick babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) all over the UK. They provide support, care and companionship to families with premature babies, and provide a platform for all those affected by premature births to come together to support each other, no matter what stage they are on their NICU journey.

This World Prematurity Day 2022, I will be walking 60,000 steps between the 10th and 17th of November to raise funds for the Treasure Boxes provided by CB to families spending Christmas in the NICU. We appreciate any amount you can donate to the £500 goal, nothing is too small and every penny helps to make a family's experience less isolating and a little more comfortable.
