On Sunday 29th July 2018 I will be taking part in Ride London-Surrey 100 (may regret this decision!!) for Brain Tumour Research. It is an amazing cause and one that is very close to my heart after losing a close member of family suddenly in 2016 to a brain tumour. Angela was a warm-hearted, generous and caring person, who was always such fun to be around. She was such an inspiration to me with the work she did whilst being a magistrate, which saw her awarded with an OBE, and then her further work for St John Ambulance. 

Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity in the UK that is purely dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours and are a leading voice calling for greater support and action for research into what scientists are calling the last battleground against cancer. Only 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease which can affect anyone at any age. They are striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research. One day of research at one of their centres costs £2,740, so they need all the support they can get.
