Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We're planning to have great fun at the London Duathlon and to raise as much money as possible for The Alzheimer’s Society. Please do support us!

The Alzheimer’s Society (http://www.alzheimers.org.uk/) is a charity which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Staff and volunteers provide information and support to people affected by dementia in their communities, online and via the telephone national dementia helpline. The charity also campaigns and raises awareness of dementia, provides training for healthcare professionals and funds research into the causes, care and treatment of dementia and people affected by it.

For those who don't know, we are entering five relay teams all from the Chemical Engineering Department at Imperial College London. Each team has three members, one of each of the three stages of the Duathlon event: 10 km run, 44 km bike ride, and finally 5 km run.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
