Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We work in over 70 countries - in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We provide medical care where it's needed most.

Story

Dear Friends,

On the 29th February, Friends of Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) from all across London will convene at Battersea Park for a WINTER FUN RUN in an effort to raise funds for MSF's LIVING SAVING WORK.

Runners will choose to race a 5 or 10k route while wearing fancy dress.

Since its creation in 1971, MSF has been at the forefront of humanitarian medical aid. Its mission to provide lifesaving medical care to those most in need has had - and continues to have - a meaningful impact globally.

Your donation matters. It is thanks to people like you that MSF can carry through its lifesaving work in over 60 countries. So you know, these are a few of the many ways your donation can help others:

  • £3 buys 312 ibuprofen tablets to provide pain relief.
  • £10 provides vaccination against measles for 21 children.
  • £15 buys enough ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) to treat 2 severely malnourished children.
  • £20 affords Hepatitis B vaccination for 62 people.
  • £30 provides clean linen and gowns for 2 surgical operations and help prevent the spread of infection.
  • £45 could cover the cost of putting a doctor in a crisis field for a day.
  • £65 buys a foldable stretcher to quickly and safely remove an injured person from danger.
  • £73 could treat up to 130 people with malaria.
  • £95 provides a year’s supply of anti-retroviral drugs for 1 person.
  • £97 could pay for crutches for 4 patients with leg injuries.
  • £188 buys a basic surgical kit to enable an MSF surgeon to carry out surgery in a crisis zone.

These are just some of the ways you are helping MSF make a difference. Every little bit helps, so please consider supporting us today - and it is all for a great cause!

More than 95% of the funds that MSF have to work with come from private individuals like yourself allows MSF to have a  unique commitment towards neutrality, impartiality and independence.

If you are interested in taking part and running, please note that registrations for the run close on the 17th February 2020To register, find out more at the Facebook Event and get a free ticket from Eventbrite.
