Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Around the world, every month girls resort to using rags, leaves, and even cow dung to manage their menstruation, many have to stay indoors. Days for Girls (https://www.daysforgirls.org) Menstrual Hygiene Kits provide a safe, washable, and long-lasting alternative, enabling girls to continue their schooling and gain a vital education; breaking the cycle of poverty.
In 2016 Imperial College Medical Students visited remote health posts in Nepal run by Community Action Nepal, and linking with Days for Girls distributed Hygiene Kits. In May 2018 our students will return to the health posts and are aiming to take education materials plus 1033 Kits – one for each female student in Imperial College Medical School.
Each kit contains pads, washcloth, soap and pants in a colorful bag, which last 2 - 3 years and costs £5.14p.
