In Memory Of Terry Dye

We are very sad to announce that Terry Dye from Leisure Lakes Bikes Bury passed away after losing his battle with cancer. 'Terry from Bury' worked at our Bury store for over 12 years and was not only a member of staff but a great friend to everyone that worked with him. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family, Trish and his girls. Terry, a good mate, RIP.
We wanted to do something in memory of Terry and will be raising as much money as we can over our Demo Weekend on 21st-22nd March for Dr Kershaw's Hospice who cared and supported Terry and his family in his final weeks.
Any donations over the weekend or on this page will be greatly appreciated and will go towards a place that gives great comfort to those with life-limiting illnesses in a peaceful and homely environment.
About Dr Kershaw's Hospice
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice was opened in 1989 (therefore celebrating 25 years of care this year) following the conversion and development of a 1930s cottage hospital originally built with a legacy from Dr John Kershaw, a local GP. The Hospice has undergone a number of building programmes, which has included expansion and refurbishment that offers high quality patient accommodation.
The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with non-curable, life-limiting illnesses in a peaceful and homely environment. Palliative care is an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients. Palliative care is appropriate for patients at all stages of illness, including those undergoing treatment for symptom control or rehabilitation as well as patients who are nearing the end of life.
Dr Kershaw's Hospice is Oldham’s only specialist care facility for adults with life limiting illnesses. The palliative care that the hospice provides is completely free of charge, and is set within a peaceful, homely environment, with beautiful grounds for both patients and their families to enjoy.
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is an independent hospice and a registered charity (Charity No. 1105924). It is partially funded by the Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), circa £800,000 per year, however, the major part of the annual budget of £1.9m is supported by fundraising activities, donations, legacies, income from the Hospice shops and revenue from the Hospice lottery. We need your help to ensure this amazing place is here for generations to come. Please support your local hospice.
The Hospice serves a population of some 220,000 people drawn from Oldham and its surrounding districts and has a close working relationship with Oldham CCG; Pennine Care NHS Trust and Pennine Acute NHS Trust.
