Computing is proud, once again, to be supporting the work of our charity partner ComputerAid. ComputerAid provides refurbished computers to schools, hospitals and charities across the developing world and works with partners to provide training and support.
Computing is raising funds to support a project that has already introduced IT for the very first time in 40 rural hospitals and clinics across East Africa - improving healthcare for some of the most disadvantaged people in the world.
Doctors are provided with PCs, digital camera, scanners and internet connection. This means that, when a patient has a condition that they are unable to diagnose, doctors can consult with experts across the world - helping them to treat often life-threatening conditions.
There are a further 120 clinics waiting to be served by this programme so a team from Computing will complete two challenges in 2009 to raise funds. Jonathan and Robin will be high altitude trekking in Ethiopia and Bryan will be cycling across Chile.
Any donations you are able to give will be greatly appreciated by our charity partner, who are putting technology to great use in deprived and challenging parts of the world.
Many thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
