Great Manchester Run 2017 · 28 May 2017 ·
If you knew my incredible bubbly, funny, clever, generous, beautiful mum you would know that she was the most stubborn person ever - which must be where I get it from! She used to joke that she deserved some sympathy because everyone used to say how well she looked all the time, even though she was so bravely battling secondary breast cancer. She battled cancer not once but twice and with that came endless treatment (chemo, radiotherapy, brain surgery...the list goes on) and I have to say I don't think I ever heard her complain - not even once! She was incredible, but when it got to the point where we knew we needed to ask for help, and she understood I was struggling and so worried about caring for her at home, Macmillan stepped up and got the support that we needed.
Macmillan are indispensable - they are the voice of reason, they get things done and sorted, and are so honest and helpful in what they do. Cancer is a horrid, unpredictable and horrendous disease that took my beautiful mum and my world away. It's evil and affects so many people's lives who simply don't deserve it. So whilst we wait for that miracle cure we so desperately need, what can we do?
We make sure that those who suffer with cancer and their families have all the support they can possibly get. Help me raise money for Macmillan and let's make sure no one faces cancer alone. 10km isn't the longest of distances but for me it will truly be a tough and emotional one to overcome.
