The Yolanda Moore Foundation supports ambitious young people aged 15 – 24 from London, Dorset, Hampshire and Otago (New Zealand) with funding, mentoring and practical help. Inspired by the life and passions of Yolanda Moore, we seek to carry on her ambition to inspire young people to pursue their passions. We particularly seek to help disadvantaged ambitious young people who do not have the opportunities and support that Yolanda did. Whether needing help to pursue a course, begin an internship, get a flight to your next sports tournament or get a new suit for an interview, we’re here to help. We also seek to help young people who are passionate about helping others and make the world a better place, we provide support for them to travel and pursue voluntary experiences. We provide three main kinds of funding: Vocational or Educational support – This refers to funding short course fees, funding travel to a course, funding an Internship (including travel). Funding to support others – This refers to funding travel to aid a voluntary/charitable experience, supporting you whilst completing a voluntary/charitable experience. Funding for personal support or development – This refers to funding for sporting activities, musical pursuits, including travel & equipment. We don’t fund subsistence, university fees or living expenses – we want to support you with the things that can be seen as “extra” but will make all the difference to you moving forward with your life.

Story

On April 2nd I will be running the Paris marathon in aid of the Yolanda Moore Foundation, set up in memory of my lovely friend Yolanda Moore who was tragically taken from us on 5th August 2018.

Yolanda is the funnest, most vivacious and hilarious person I have ever met. We met skiing in New Zealand and spend two seasons living together and working as ski instructors. My favourite memories are with her.

Her lovely parents and best friend Richard set up the Yolanda Moore foundation to remember her. During her short life, Yolanda adored children teaching them to ski in the mountains in New Zealand and then teaching drama to disabled children back in the UK.

The charity are currently helping under privileged young people aged 15-24 in London, Dorset and Hampshire get their feet off the ground, with financial aid and anything else they can do to help them reach their goals, aspirations and dreams. The work they do can be found here: https://www.tymf.co.uk

I know Landy would be in awe of the work the charity is doing in her name and smiling. I am so grateful for any donations, big or small to support the fantastic work this charity do to celebrate Yolanda’s life and incredible impact during her 22 years. In the meantime, I will keep running!
