This summer on the 3rd July, I am travelling to South Africa for six weeks with 'Friends of Africa.' Friends of Africa is a registered charity that currently has several projects based in Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa. During my six weeks, I will be working on projects based in Vereeniging which is south of Johannesburg. This will involve teaching and assisting with building of a parish centre for the community.

Friends of Africa is a charity based in Dromantine, Co. Down and has established projects in several countries across Africa. Their motto, "small steps together," reflects the work that they do alongside the African people to make sustainable, effective changes that create a sense of empowerment and pride in the communities.

As a volunteer I am required to raise £3000 to fund the projects I will be working on in July. Any donation you can make, no matter how small, really makes a difference and would be greatly appreciated!
