Story
The chance for a successful future starts with a school building. UNICEF and ING Chances for Children provide schools for nomad children in Ethiopia. And you can help. For only EUR 1800 UNICEF can build a school building.
Nearly 30,000 nomad children living in the Afar region and the South Omo and Borena zones are now able to go to school - many of whom for the very first time. UNICEF has set up special schools adapted to the lifestyle of the nomads. That way children can first herd the goats and then go to school and pursue their dreams. In addition UNICEF provides good teaching aids. And it educates village chiefs and traditional leaders about the importance of education. Particularly for girls as they are kept home most. ING is also supporting a UNICEF project to provide education to more than 100,000 vulnerable children in the country who are not yet enrolled in school.
