RoadPeace is the national charity for road crash victims. We provide practical and emotional support to victims through a helpline, befriender network, and information guides on the legal procedures that follow a crash. RoadPeace also campaigns for justice for victims and road danger reduction policies that champion the needs of vulnerable road users. RoadPeace won the Guardian Charity Award winners in 2008. Help us make the world a safer and fairer place.

Story

We are accepting donations in lieu of flowers in memory of Bernard (Bernie)

Bernard flew in a Spitfire from Biggin Hill, over Kent on 2nd October 2018, which was a lifelong ambition. On Wednesday 10th October 2018, it was a lovely day and he decided to get on one of his beloved Motor Bikes and go down to Beachy Head and watch the Spitfire fly over.  Sadly he never got there, he was less than 5 miles away, when a tragic accident occurred, with no one else involved and he was travelling less than 30mph. He sadly died at the scene.

Bernard absolutely loved his Yamaha R1 and Triumph Street Triple, along with his great love of match fishing and regular holidays in the sun. He led a very active life doing all that he enjoyed most.

We would like to help the Road Peace Charity, who, we may well need support from in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

As a family, to find any positivity or strength from this very devastating tragedy, we will be commemorating Bernard in a years time, by going to Beachy Head and watching the Spitfire for him! Details will follow next year, for all who want to join us.
