In the past 21 years, over 21,000 people with epilepsy have died suddenly and died too young. SUDEP Action’s Prevent21 campaign shines a light on this shocking disaster. With a significant change of attitude, culture, and action towards epilepsy - many lives CAN be saved. Knowledge saves lives.

Story

Hello friends,

As I’m sure many of you know, my dear friend @Adam Foulkes unexpectedly passed away on the 7th of June.

Gads’ death has affected so many people in such a profound way. His innate kindness and ability to make others laugh drew everyone to him. I can say with confidence that he is one of the greatest people I will ever have the pleasure of spending time with. He was loved by so many and it is so unfair that he was taken from us so soon.

What makes it even harder to accept is the fact that Gads’ death wasn’t caused by a known medical condition or accident. It is suspected that he suffered a seizure. So, along with a group of his friends and family, I will be running the Bath Half Marathon on the 15th of March in support
the charity SUDEP Action (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). They focus their efforts on providing tools to help keep people safe and on the priorities that bereaved families tell them are important: To prevent deaths; To be supported; To be involved.

Most of you who know me will be aware that I am no athlete. This is
proving to be a major challenge and I may well have bitten off more than I can chew. So please give generously. It is for a great cause and in memory of an incredible man.

Love you Gads. RIP <3
