David's Athens Marathon page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Athens Marathon on 13th November in memory of Zoe Tynan.
I worked with Zoe Tynan when she was a player with Manchester City Women's Football Club, and I was the team physiotherapist from July 2015 to July 2016.
Zoe started her football career with Liverpool Feds before playing with Everton from U12 to U17. Zoe then joined City where she became a first team squad player before moving to Fylde Ladies. Zoe was also, from the age of 12, part of England U15, U17 and most recently U19 squads. Zoe was a popular member of her teams because of her vibrant, generous and fun loving personality.
Tragically, Zoe passed away in August 2016, aged 18. I contacted Zoe's mum and dad - Alison and Carl to ask if I could run the marathon in memory of Zoe and raise money for their chosen charity. They have chosen the Alzheimer's Society. In life, Zoe supported this charity as her nan is a sufferer and Zoe loved her nan very much.
Please sponsor me to raise as much money as possible for this really worthwhile cause and to remember Zoe and the tremendous happiness she brought to all her teammates, friends and family.
Thanks to everyone for all their generous donations. I finished the Athens Marathon in 3 hours 1 minute 20 seconds. It was the toughest marathon I've ran, the hills, wind and sun made sure of that. Running in memory of Zoe and for such a worthwhile cause, such as Alzheimer's Society really helped me through the 26.2 miles. Thanks again.
