Edinburgh Team Relay 2018 · 27 May 2018 ·

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

We are running the Edinburgh Marathon Relay for Bowel Cancer UK. We all met through exercise & our fabulous friend & training partner Susan McKenzie is being treated for stage IV metastatic Bowel cancer and has been since December 2015. Currently there is no cure for stage IV, but it is treatable. Susan has been receiving wonderful care since her diagnosis at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre located at the Western General Hospital and continued with her fitness training throughout gruelling fortnightly cycles of chemotherapy as well as working full time as a paediatric nurse. She has inspired us all to run for this charity who are clinically focussed in providing funding for research and in raising awareness of the disease, particularly in the younger age group affected who are sadly often diagnosed too late at stage IV. If bowel cancer is detected early, not only is it treatable but curable also.

We would love it if you can sponsor us - any donation is greatly appreciated & will go a long way to supporting research and awareness into this cancer.
