RNLI lifeboats in Scotland protect hundreds of communities with a 24-hour search and rescue service. Our volunteer crews rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from.

Story

Every year in March we host our popular Car Wash event. Each year we enjoy welcoming hundreds of local supporters to the station, making sure all manner of vehicles leave us shiny and clean and with smiles all around. No fire engine too large; no smart car too tiny; no vehicle left unwashed.

It's also a great opportunity for our crew and fundraisers to come together as one big team and celebrate raising essential funds to allow us to save lives at sea.

In 2019 we raised £2480 - and then lockdown struck, effectively cancelling all fundraising events ever since. A whole year of lost income. And yet we still launch to save lives whenever we are needed. If you would usually come to support us then we would greatly appreciate your continued support by donating to our virtual fundraiser this year - we have never needed your help more!

RNLI lifeboats in Scotland protect hundreds of communities with a 24-hour search and rescue service. Our volunteer crews rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from. Scotland's unrivalled coasts and waters are valued by local communities and visitors alike, with millions travelling to enjoy them, and work on them each year. But the water remains an unpredictable environment that can catch people out.

People will always need our help and we will always be there to answer that call. Keeping a modern fleet of lifeboats maintained, fuelled and ever ready to go to the rescue from all 46 of the lifeboat stations in Scotland is expensive and we rely entirely on voluntary donations to ensure this service is maintained.

It costs an average of £155k to run a lifeboat station in Scotland but with the implications of Covid-19, we havent been able to fundraise as normal to help keep our lifeboats afloat. Can you help?
