In October 2022, a team from across the world are gathering in Patagonia for a demanding 7-day trip as part of a tough but epic adventure on behalf of victims and survivors of human trafficking.

Story

I am full of excitement that I will be able to represent Noerr at the charity trek organised by Lex Mundi and Hope For Justice & Slave Free Alliance in Patagonia (Argentina) in only a few weeks’ time at the beginning of October.

The charity trek is in cooperation with Hope For Justice & Slave-Free Alliance. Hope for Justice is a global NGO established in 2008. Its mission is to fight modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives and reforming society. In 2018, Hope for Justice created the Slave-Free Alliance focusing its work specifically on organisations and supply chains.

The trek will be roughly 100 km and seven days long from 7 to 13 October 2022 in the stunning glacier region of Patagonia in Argentina. Our little trekking group consists of Pedro Said Naler from the Mexican law firm Basham, in-house counsel Jennifer Lee from First Solar (USA) and Fredrik Nilsson from Northvolt (Sweden) as well as Eric Staal and Taryn Butchard from Lex Mundi.

Noerr is the exclusive member firm in Germany for Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms. In this context, we also closely cooperate with the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, with whom we have been able to round up exciting and meaningful mandates over the past few years.

As a leading European law firm, Noerr is aware of its social and environmental responsibility in our rapidly developing world. As lawyers, we are bound by the German Federal Lawyer’s Act as essential agents of the administration of justice and therefore feel committed to upholding fundamental and human rights.

My name is Ira Tsoures and I am a senior associate at Noerr in Berlin (Germany) specialising in corporate law and regulatory M&A. Together with other colleagues, we initiated the Noerr Sustainability Team, helping our company to define its environmental goals and to become carbon neutral step by step. Typically, I ask “Is there anything vegan?” and as a sociable human being I hugely enjoy the company of people and the richness of nature.

With this challenge, we want to raise awareness about victims of modern slavery and human trafficking and the herculean task of Hope for Justice. Therefore, I would be very happy if you could support this event with a donation.

The charity trek is dedicated to changing the lives of people trapped in modern slavery and those who have survived human trafficking. I am very grateful to everyone wishing to donate. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Hope for Justice to strengthen them in their fight to end slavery.

Thank you so much for your support!
