Many thanks to all those that have donated so far. We're still a long way off our target, so let's all work together & share this page to encourage all our friends and families to donate to this cause.

A series of earthquakes on Saturday 11th August 2012 in north-west Iran has left hundreds dead and hundreds of thousands without homes. The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRCS) has deployed staff and volunteers to assist in rescue and relief operations.

Early estimates suggest that approximately over 306 people have been killed, 5,000 injured and many more may still be trapped in the rubble. 100′s of villages in the region have been affected with over 12,000 houses completely destroyed or heavily damaged. Both quakes measured above magnitude 6.2 and occured within just a few minutes of each other. the US Geological Survey said that there were at least 40 aftershocks following the initial earthquakes yesterday afternoon. The epicentre is believed to be near the towns of Harees and Varzeghan in East Azerbaijan province.

The Islamic Unity Society, the Islamic Student AssociationMuslim Student Council & AhlulBayt Islamic Societies, the have come together in order to raise money for the victims of the recent Earthquake in Iran which has affected hundreds of thousands of families!

We urge you all to donate generously especially during these holy days and nights of Ramadhan via the page below and we humbly ask you to assist us all in spreading the word and asking friends and family to donate in order to provide some comfort to those who have lost so much!

All donations will be sent to the Iranian Red Crescent Society in order to assist them in their efforts in helping the victims of the Earthquake.
