Last year, the Karrada tragedy claimed over 400  lives, as  innocent people were burnt alive in a shopping centre  in the centre  of Baghdad whilst they were out buying Eid gifts to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. There was widespread shock and horror around the world. A few of us here in London were so moved by the tragedy so we got together and organised a fundraising event which raised a stagerring £117,000  with the help of Barclays Bank and everyone's  kind  and generous donations .

With that amount, we were able to make a real difference to people’s lives. We had volunteers on the ground in Karrada  delivering the kind donations to the people who we were most in need. Our volunteers relayed back some horrific tales of what had happened to people and what dire situations they had found themselves in. Our donations were not going to bring back their loved ones back but they helped  to give them a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness in this brutal world we unfortunately find ourselves in.

Whilst ISIS have finally been destroyed in Iraq, they have left behind a trail of devastation. Thousands of children have been orphaned after the years of terror and destruction Iraq has endured and so we turn our focus for this year's fundraising  project to the orphans of Iraq, and humbly ask you once again to please dig deep and donate to this worthy cause.

We have organised a 3 course fundraising dinner in Kensington Hyde Park Hotel on the 25th November 2017.

Please book your tickets through the link below:

This event is open to all. It doesn’t matter if you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist or an atheist, supporting these orphans is about showing humanity and compassion.

We would love it for you to join us for this special night but if you are unable to do so, then there is also the opportunity to donate here via this just giving page.

The donations will again go to our volunteers  on the ground and will help fund a number of initiatives related to orphans in Iraq. There are a number of them in real need of basic aid especially with the winter months approaching. Your donations could make a real difference to these  children's  lives.

Please give generously and try to attend to show your support and solidarity to this very worthy cause.
