As most of you know cancer came at me with very little warning 16 months ago. I was lucky to turn yellow as cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) can be hard to detect, often only showing it's hand when nothing can be done.  'The Whipple'  is a massive op but the surgeons of the HPB ward at Liverpool Royal saved my life - their skill and expertise is astounding and those working long hours for the NHS are heroes. 

I've been so very lucky to be able to return to my life with the support of my wonderful family and fabulous friends but I don't take this for granted. Cancer is ruthless. I'll be thinking about all those who haven't been as lucky as me as I crawl slowly across the line tomorrow.
