id set a target of 45mins, being my first ever 5k... i came in at 35mins 36secs. very pleased!

realisation that its now less than 4 weeks until the run, been a bit unwell past week or so - better ramp up the training this week!

im running the Edinburgh 5k in memory of my daughter Iris to raise money for Sands.

Our daughter Iris was 6 days over term when she was born sleeping. We will never forget the joy of waiting to see her, to hold her. We will never get to see her grow old but we will never forget the precious memories that she gave us. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.
I am fundraising for Sands - The Still Birth & NeoNatal Death Society - because 17 babies per day in the UK are still born, or die just after birth. This is 17 too many & this level of loss is unacceptable.

SANDS campaign for:
Resources to be sufficiently allocated to better support those parents who suffer the loss of a baby.

Improvements in maternity services to reduce the unnecessary loss of babies’ lives.

A comprehensive review of all stillbirths and neonatal deaths so that we can learn what went wrong and change practice accordingly
