Story
Over the coming months I will be training harder than I ever have before in an attempt to complete an iron-distance triathlon at the Nottingham Outlaw on July 25th. For those of you who don't know, the event involves a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle and a 26.2 mile run to top things off! I've got a few warm-up events booked in for the build-up, starting with the Cotswold Olympic Triathlon on 9th of May and also the Cotswold 113 half-iron distance event on 6th of June, just in case you felt short-changed in only sponsoring me for one event! Keep an eye on this page for updates on how the final 10 weeks of my 30-week training plan are going.
In December 2017 my cousin Sam took his own life and since then members of the Bull family have taken part in various events to help both raise awareness of mental health issues and to raise funds in order to support CALM with their work in helping to prevent suicide. I have seen the effect suicide can have on a family in both a professional and a personal context and I can't think of a more worthy charity to raise funds for, particularly in the challenging current environment of Covid and the various lockdown restrictions.
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life's problems. Call 0800 585858.
