Story
Holy shitballs. I'm going to be racing Ironman Wales on Sunday 13th September. A cheeky 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a marathon, back-to-back. It's hilly. It's windy. It's, well... Wales.
In the run-up to what is deemed to be one of the toughest courses on the Ironman circuit, I'm going to be training like a rabid dog until race day. And should the Gods be with me on the day itself, I'm aiming to finish the race in under 10:45. If my calculations are correct, this would be put me in the top 30 of the 2,500+ athletes taking part. But hey, a lot could happen in 226km of swimming, cycling and running so let's see how things pan out.
Whatever the outcome, I want to raise as much as money as humanly possible for the incredible charity that is Macmillan Cancer Support. They're one heck of an organisation and do truly incredible things for people affected by cancer.
So, if you want to see me sweat like a pig, train like Rocky Balboa for his fight against Mr. T and race my heart out in September, please show your love and support by donating a wee bit of your hard-earned cash to Macmillan. I'd be forever grateful, no matter the size of the contribution, and I know that every single penny will go a long way in helping people who need it the most.
Thanks a million and lots of love to you,
Ben xxx
