Story

In 2018 a good friend and colleague passed away suddenly at the age of 33. His name was Rich Walklate and he was an athletic inspiration to me.

At his funeral, he was described as an Ironman with a Heart of Gold.

Before he passed away, we spoke about what events we should be doing next, and Rich recommended that I take part in Ironman Lanzarote, so here I am - this one is for him.

This is a long course triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile ocean swim, a 112 mile bike ride and topped off with a 26.2 mile run. There's a 17 hour time limit.

Any money raised will be going towards the hospital that gave Rich heart surgery over recent years - to say thanks for every minute more they gave us of him.
