Event: Irving Building bid
We support Oxfordshire non-profit groups to make life better for local people.

Story

We are very glad to say that the Irving Building is finally on the market. Homes for Oxford, working closely with Oxfordshire Community Land Trust (OCLT) are at an advanced stage of preparing our bid. OCLT will be the bidding organization and if successful will own the site on behalf of the community.

Thus far we have committed to spending almost £17K on preparing the bid (design, survey, business planning, publicity). We were delighted to receive £10K from Locality towards these bid costs.

However as our Just Giving total shows we still need to raise a further £3K for the new design work and some other things because of new unexpected elements in the bid requirements. So please make a donation if you can. Even small donations help and also show your support! This money is going to a very good cause which is to get this wonderful old building into community ownership'

Join us to make this happen.

Once we have the site secured we will launch a Community Share Offer so there will be an opportunity to invest for an ethical return.

Please be aware that if you donate, this money is non-returnable. While we are optimistic about our chances of success there are no guarantees but in order to bid we must spend this money.
