I am currently training to take part in the Royal Parks Half not only as a personal challenge but to raise money for a small charity - The Norrie Disease Foundation.

Norrie Disease is a rare genetic condition causing blindness from birth and most individuals also suffer from progressive hearing loss that starts in early childhood. I went to John Ball Primary School with a boy who is affected by Norrie Disease.   I was inspired by his resilience as I watched him become independent in a setting that presented him with a lot of challenges. I would like to raise awareness for the disease and help fund future research as the earlier the diagnosis the better the outcome for the individual.

The Norrie Disease Foundation is researching gene replacement, understanding the medical features of the disease and building a patient registry.
