Story
So I'm running the London marathon dun dun dunnnnn....a questionable decision but hopefully a good one! I entered the ballot lottery not expecting to be accepted and was shocked and honoured to receive a place to run the London Marathon. Although I was terrified of the hard-work ahead, I couldn't turn down an opportunity to experience this once in a lifetime challenge. As part of this, I would love to raise money for an important charity - Emmanuel House.
At the start of my 5 stone weight loss journey, I couldn't run more than a minute without needing to stop. I've always found running tough and I'm not a natural runner by any stretch of the imagination but it's been super motivating to see the improvements over time. Flash forward to 2023 and I am addicted to 5k Parkruns - I love the community feel and the sense of achievement after a run...and eating well-deserved pancakes afterwards.
I have chosen to support a charity from my home city: Nottingham. Emmanuel House supports people who are homeless, rough sleeping, in crisis, or at risk of homelessness in Nottingham. Their purpose is to tackle isolation, vulnerability and homelessness within our community by providing an inclusive, compassionate service to people who need help, whether it’s providing brief reassurance or more in-depth and prolonged support.
