Race for Cheetahs 2022 · 31 May 2022

Cheetahs are the most endangered big cats in Africa with only 7,100 remaining in the wild. The Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) has developed a truly inspirational holistic model for cheetah conservation based on the premise that saving the cheetah will save everything else, including humans

Story

My history with Cheetahs goes way back to I was a little girl, I have been in love with this species as long as I can remember. From visiting them in my closest wildlife park to watching every documentary I could about them.

They fascinated me and I fell in love with them, the more I learned about them, the more I wanted to help. I started Wildlife Photography because of them and wanting to showcase their beauty. I have had a few trips over to Africa to see them in the wild and get to see them running free, as they should be.

I was fortunate enough to visit the CCF in Namibia on a couple of occasions and see the hard work they do to conserve the cheetah and even got to meet the woman herself Dr.Laurie Marker. The inspirational work they do, dedicating their lives and energy into saving this beautiful species has made me want to do more for them. Last year I took part in the #RaceforCheetahs and this year I am doing the same.

They mean so much to me and I hope I get to give them even a little bit back what they do for me. They hold a huge a big place in my heart and I hope I get to see them around even when I am old. I will run, walk whatever I can to raise money for them this 2022. Your support and donations would mean the world to me and the cheetahs that will benefit from the money raised. Thank you.

Your donations will help to:

  • €12 to feed 3 cheetah cubs in our Somaliland safe house for 1 day.
  • €25 to deliver community awareness to 10 community members in a village on trafficking routes.
  • €60 to provide much needed veterinary care for 1 cheetah cub in our safehouses in Somaliland.
  • €120 to provide vet care for 10 Livestock Guarding Dogs
  • €600 to fund a Livestock Guarding Dog for 1 year

Cheetah Conservation Fund UK is calling for its supporters to join forces and help raise enough funds to help save the cheetah from extinction. The race is on to save the cheetah and, with your help, it can be won. Cheetahs were once found thriving in numbers of more than 100,000, across a range that stretched through Africa and Asia; today, just 7,100 remain in the wild, occupying 9% of their natural range. The cheetah is now Africa's most endangered big cat.By working together we can save a species, what an amazing concept!
